Student Physical Therapist (CE II) (April 2021-June 2021) Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL – Inpatient Acute

• Conducted patient evaluation and development and implementation of individualized treatment plans that are patient-centered and in line with evidence-based practice

• Worked with respiratory, cardiopulmonary, and neurological patient populations to establish measurable goals to best facilitate their activities of daily living and discharge recommendations

RESEARCH-RELATED EXPERIENCES
NUPTHMS Synthesis Project (November 2019 – April 2022)
Study Summary: To survey clinic managers and/or medical directors and assess their knowledge and views regarding physical therapy and the role of physical therapy services can play in the care seen by Community Health Centers (CHC). Responsibilities included:

• Facilitated communication with key personnel and participants to develop appropriate, relevant questions and determine best methods of collection

• Assisted PI in developing appropriate policies and procedures around research protocol

BUILD PODER Research Assistant (July 2016 - March 2019) Center of Achievement, Kinesiology, CSUN, Northridge, CA

Principal Investigator: Dr. Taeyou Jung, Ph.D.
● Compared cortical activation patterns during active cycling with and without speed feedback in people with Parkinson’s Disease using functional near-infrared spectroscopy and MOTOmed.

● Duties include calibrating and setting up functional near-infrared spectroscopy, BIODEX, and VICON equipment prior to participant visits, carrying out manual flexibility and resistance exercises on individuals with special disabilities prior to data collections for clinical research trials.

Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) Research Assistant (June 2018-August 2018) Dewald Lab, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, Chicago, IL
Principal Investigator: Dr. Netta Gurari, Ph.D.
● Investigated single-arm torque perception in individuals with chronic hemiparetic stroke using a custom isometric device with six degree-of-freedom force/torque sensor.
● Recruited and briefed consent forms with participants, setting up BIODEX, casting participants’ arms with fiberglass casting, quantified torque perception in each individual arm using EMG sensors and six degree of freedom torque sensor.
